I'm a freelance photographer. Weddings, senior pics., family pics. All out door or on location, I don't have a studio or anything. I'm usually able to schedule around my husband's work schedule, exept weddings, and I also have 5 sisters that are very helpful with babysitting.

I just went back to work on the weekends....I have worked at Animal Kingdom (a privately owned zoo/pet shop) on and off for 2 1/2 years. Its a blast, I get to be up front w/ the puppies and kittens, then after my shift I get to go out into the zoo...I got to feed a one day old baby camel this week, and hold a 2 day old monkey....its soooo fun

I am a breastfeeding peer counselor for the WIC office, and I'm also a Clinic Assistant, assisting our families through income eligibility. I did work 4 days a week, 28 hours but now its 3 days a week, 24 hours (thank God! I need my Monday off!)
I hate being away from my kids I can't say I like being a working mom.

Actually, the reason is the low child to staff ratio in an infant room. Without the full time tuition from the babies, there would not be enough money to pay the staff. This is why many daycare centers don't take babies under a year at all. There is NO money to be made in a baby room. Any daycare with one is losing money on that room. They don't start turning a profit until age 2 when the staff to child ratio gets a bit higher.
Right now, I work from home. It's really hard to balance work and the kids. Sometimes I think working outside the home would be better because when I'm at home, I'd be able to focus on them entirely. I get very tired of working all night and not getting enough rest. We are mid discussion about next school year, when I'm thinking of returning to work. I'm a teacher, so the schedule does work out well. Three of my four kids will be in school anyway.

I recently went back to work after being unemployed since April of 2005. Recently as in this past September. I work as a yard supervisor at the school my children attend. I'm only part-part-time, working 1.75 hours per day, and am on a 10 month contract, but for the most part it's worth it. It was hard going back to work, considering that I had been a full time stay at home mom for over 2 years. On the other hand, it isn't much of a change because I still am able to be with my kids all the time.
Aside from working at the school, I also have a couple home businesses I have been slowly building. One of them is actually taking off faster than the other, and I am really happy about that. I am an independent rep for a mobile stuffing company, and I have been doing this for the last year and a half. So far I've only done about 5 parties, but word is starting to get around and I"m getting more phone calls and booking more parties. I'm focusing on building my customer base and hopefully building a team so I can branch out!
Oh, and between dealing with the kids, work, and my biz, I also am on the PTA board, volunteer in the classrooms 2x a week, and I'm the Cubmaster of my son's Cub Scout Pack. So I'm really busy- with a newborn taking over my life soon!!!

Hi! I work as a Sales Assistant in the Deli Department at Coles ( our local supermarket). I currently work only as a casual! but I have just also applied for an apprenticeship at our local chemist, handed my resume in today so fingers crossed, if I am successful and work hard they might offer me full time work. Funny thing is the chemist is right next door to Coles so I can still see my friends at Coles.I live 5 minutes away from the shopping centre too! so I walk to work. Isabelles daycare is right next to the shopping centre as well. I basically work nights and sometimes weekends and my husband works during the day. I wish we got to see each other more often but we are working for our children! I want them to have a better life than me!

I'm a full time network technician at Cornell University. My older girls are old enough to be home on their own (it wasn't that long ago when I had all three of them in day care though!) and Conner goes to my mother's while I'm working.

I'm a district coordinator for a non-profit that organizes home visits for nursing, home support, physio, etc. I mostly work in nursing, but am covering a desk in home support this week. Essentially, I get yelled at by old people, case managers, and the occasional nurse/psw. Good times
