My son is in the Army, stationed in Iraq. He left November 27, 2006 and is scheduled to come home in December, 2007. His family usually lives at Fort Bragg, NC, but they are with me until he comes back.

My son and his wife are usually at Fort Bragg, NC. He is a paratrooper. Since November, 2006, he has been in Iraq and isn't scheduled to come home until December, 07. His wife and son are living with me until his return.

I am Lawryan and my hubby is in the Navy. We are currently in Norfolk, Va but are looking to move to Newport news, Hampton, Suffolk, Portsmouth, or Chessapeek in Sept. I cant wait to move. It wont be far from here but I hate the place we are in now. And with him going on a 10 month deployment in about a year (our first real deployment together), I dont feel safe here alone.

Hi,
We're just leaving Naval Hospital Portsmouth, VA for Camp Lejeune. DH will be deploying some time in the coming year, we'll find out for sure when we get there. I would love to hear from any one in the Jacksonville area.

Hi,
We are stationed in Jacksonville right now. Well, actually, my hubby just got moved to Cherry Point, but we are still living in Jacksonville since he is deploying in July and I really don't want to move. Since your hubby is leaving the Naval Hospital, I am assuming he is in the Navy?

Yes, he's Navy. He'll be a general medical officer for the marines at camp lejeune. Good luck with the deployment. I can understand not wanting to move with that coming. Do you have a good support system with neighbors and friends?

I suppose my support system is as good as it can be, given the circumstances. I am an hour away from all the other wifes and my key volunteer, but I have been going to a playgroup here in Jacksonville for two years, so I have friends there. Unfortunately some of our best friends just moved to Quantico (where I was hoping we'd go). Most of my family and friends are in Memphis, but my best friend plans on visiting me at least twice during the seven month deployment, so that gives me reason to hold on to my sanity
You said your husband will be deploying too? Our doctor deployed in February - I understand my husband deploying, but at least thought I'd be able to keep my doctor for a while - !

We are stationed at New River in Jacksonville, NC but my husband just deployed about a week ago. I am not really sure where he is going because he is out on a meu. We have a 4 year old son named Chase.
