Default Which program do I need?

Hi ladies, I got the new Photo Explosion software and have messed around with it a little but not much, but I am curious if anyone has ever used it before and can help me out with it. THe main thing I want to do is add just the touch of color to the black and white photos and things like that but I cant seem to do it with that program. I dont know if maybe I havent found it or if that is a feature found only on the more expesive software. If not the photo Explosion which software should I look for?

I'm sorry i'm not familiar with photo explosion. I'm looking online to see if i can get a trial to check out. I use Corel paint shop pro X but older versions (Jasc paint shop pro 7,8 and 9) Do the same thing. I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 as well. Photoshop is a very expensive, top of the range editing program. Paint Shop pro is more useful if you want to make signatures or just do some simple photo editing. It's smaller and more user friendly.

If you google you can find free trials. I would recommend psp x.

I would suggest Google's Picasa. If you're not doing any serious editing, it will work great for you. It's free and it comes with a Filtered Black & White Tool.

I'd get the XII. Some of the ladies on the graphic site I am a part of just got it and love it....but if you want an older version I suggest X. I have XI and it has a lot of bugs.

I've never used Photo explosion, but have used Print Shop and Photo Shop. Of the two Print Shop is fairly easy (my daughter uses it). I like Photo Shop but it's expensive and much harder to learn. I think anything that you buy will take some time to learn. It seems that no two programs run the same.
