I go camping to get my kids outdoors. Having your kids spend so much time indoors with TV or Video Games can be bad for their health. The Ad Council recently published some research which found that children today spend 50% less time outdoors than they spent 20 years ago. This got me really wanting to get my kids into the great outdoors.
The Forest Service is embarking on a campaign called "Where the Other You Lives" which is trying to address this.. They have created a
website and have started an initiative which is aiming to get kids outdoors to use their imaginations, experience wildlife, and understand nature.
I have become more active in outdoor life, even though we live in a city, we go to the park, take car trips, hit the beach, pretty much anything so that my kids can become more eco-friendly. It also gives us more quality time and it always leads to fun summertime adventures.
