Wink Why did you choose your wedding date?

Why did you choose the date you did for your wedding? Was it a special date for you? Did it depend on availability of church or reception place or did family decide it? How much consideration of others should be taken into account on the wedding date?
Our reasons for our date are here http://marriage.families.com/blog/ch...a-wedding-date

March is my favorite month because the weather is absolutely beautiful here in Phoenix, AZ, USA so I'd always thought I'd love to get married in March. DH and I met 11/8 and had our first date 12/8, so I thought getting married on the 8th of some month would be wonderful. By the time we got engaged there were no 8ths of the month that would work, so we went ahead and had a March wedding. At the time we worked with the high school students at our church and every year during their spring break they go to Mexico to build houses. We wanted as many students, and adults who work with the students to be able to attend as possible so we immediately ruled out the weekend the students would be gone. Our church has Saturday evening services and all weddings/receptions had to be completed by noon, so we got married on a Friday night. We ended up getting married March 12, 2004. We got engaged Sept. 12, 2003 so now "12" is significant for us.

We were married on Sept. 11th 3 years ago, but didn't have much choice of the date, because of what we wanted to do...

My now-husband and I took our 2 boys on a Disney Cruise and got married in Key West on the beach at sunset - just the 4 of us. All other ports-of-call were not in the USA, and would have been a pain to get the right paperwork. It just happened to be Sept.11th when we were in Key West.

At least DH can't really forget our anniversary.

i wanted to be married in spring with all the flowers blooming but not too late into spring that it was hot, so we decided late september and the spring equinox was on saturday of that year, so we decide that would be a perfect date

The 1st time around when we got married I found out my mom and dad were married July 9th and so that's when I wanted to but was not feasible so I went to the next weekend that would work so I ended up getting married July 19th 2003. It worked well that way!!!

We liked the idea of a Spring wedding...and I liked the sound of April the best because May is too busy. We chose the 29th because it's close to my grandma's birthday.

I originally wanted September 3rd because that's when we started dating but the year we got married September 3rd wasn't an option...We still celebrate both days.

I got married in March, on my 22nd Birthday (14th) i prefer march and feb as thats when all the daffodils are out and they, are my favourite flower, so we had lots of daffodils at our wedding, not many guests but lots of daffodils

July 9th was the most agreed upon date by both sides of the family and was available at the church & inn (for the reception) we wanted. If I would have known it would be 104 degree that day and choking humidy, I would have picked a different date

Thank you ladies for sharing some of you stories and you reasons about your wedding dates. Interesting reading. 104 degrees, Momma Colleeen, I would have melted. jkl123, September 11, certainly should be no way that date is ever forgotten.Sounds like many still like Spring weddings.
