Default Why is it that.....

I can't look at my toothbrush without gagging??? It is so frustrating! I can't go the next 5 months with a stinkin' mouth...haha. I am not exagerating, I walk into the bathroom , reach up for my toothbrush and I seriously gag.
I am not nauseated at all anymore, except then! I'm feeling fantastic, lots of energy, and a big appetite, starting in the middle of the night when I wake up to pee for the 1 billionth time!
I'm happy to report, I am 15 weeks and 2 days preggo I am so excited! 4 1/2 more weeks and I'll be half baked hahaha.
How's my preggo buddies feeling?

I STILL feel sick when I brush my teeth. I noticed that if I use REALLY cold water and wash the tooth brush constantly keeping the brush really wet it helps..and a different minty tooth paste helped as well....that's about all I have to offer...glad to hear you are feeling better now tho!

I totally agree... I can't even THINK about brushing my teeth without gagging! It's horrible! I still frequently throw up after brushing my teeth.. how effective! Unfortunately I have no advice. I haven't figured out how to avoid it!

I always had to use kids toothpaste while pregnant because the stronger flavored adult toothpaste would make me gag. I liked bubblemint aquafresh or sparkle crest.

You guys are too funny **

deedee that is a good idea! I may just try my kid's toothpaste.
Mouthwash, suprisingly, seems to help too, and I got a new toothbrush

Now I've never heard of that before!!! Wow. My problem right now is that my molars are so decayed that I have to have a root canal on nearly every molar I still have- they have been steadily getting worse with this pregnancy. I have two molars that I cannot even touch with the toothbrush or I will start screaming in agony. I have an appointment for Monday to have them cleaned and temporarily capped to take away the pain until I give birth, the I'll have to go back in a finish the root canal on those two.

I hate not being able to brush my teeth properly!!

I can remember that toothbrush gagging w/ m/s too. Yucky!

Just do the best you can with your oral hygiene.

Used to be an old wives tale that with every pg, a mother lost a tooth.

Am hoping that dentistry has advanced, as well as hygiene that this
is not a normal occurance these days.

I just started to get over my MS but I still have issues with my toothbrush. I do a quick brush and TMI: gag/vomit in the sink with the water running in my mouth. I try to keep as much from settling in my mouth as I can. GL and feel better soon.

They only time I really get sick it when I brush my teeth. And I tried to use DD's and that just made it worse.... Have you tried changing brands or flavors?? That's worked for me.
I also agree with SaraBeth, spit more often that seem to helps too.
Good luck.
