Will it ever end???
Ok so here is the deal. I am constantly getting sick if I do not take my Zofran twice a day every day. I have tried EVERYTHING from eating saltines when i first wake up to taking Vitamin B6 which is supposed to help with the nausea. I can not eat ANYTHING without my pills. But here is where the problem comes in. My Dr doesnt want me to take them any more he thinks that it is unneccesary. He told me to try and not take them for two weeks. Well I am loosing my voice from getting sick all the time. I do not get the chance to keep anything down. I am so sick of knowing what things looks like when they come up. I have enough Zofran to last until mid July. But I still would have a couple of months without it. I dont understand why my Dr isnt going to refill it even though he knows I am still not gaining weight. I actually lost another pound since my last appt. I am concerned that I will loose even more weight and am afraid that it will cause me to have a little baby. I want my baby to be healthy as can be. i know that towards the end of pregnancy is when the baby gains most of its fat. I dont want to be getting sicker than a dog, while I am trying to help my little one grow. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help the nausea or how to talk the Dr into giving me a couple more months of Zofran

is zofran just an anti nasuea or is it something else you are having withdrawals from? (sorry no idea about medicine) I think if its no harm to bub and its helping you then stay on it, its horrible being sick 24/7. explain this to the dr that if you aren't having it you are eating anyway due to illness so at least on it you can it....If not can you try another dr? if you dehydrate from sick then thats not good been there

Really any ginger trype thing will help. Like ginger root and ginger tea. They also make candy that helps with ginger in it! I would tell the Dr. that you tried the 2 weeks without meds and all it did was make things worse. If taking the med is what is going to help you keep food down then the Dr. should not be trying to take it away from you! Good luck!

IMHO the Dr is doing this for a reason. I work in a pharmacy and from my experince it's not normal for someone to be on a anti nausea medication for extended period of time. Do you think it might be your prentatal vitamins causing the upset?

Wishing that you were not so sick.
Yes, maybe by switching to a different brand of baby vitamins,
you would feel better.
Are you simply queasy
or
actually vomiting daily
or
several times a day vomiting?
You need to document daily what you are able to eat and drink, the time of day and amounts,
and how much you vomit each day.
Do this for several days/weeks.
Bring this with you to the doctor so he can see how it goes.
Some women do vomit once a day with pg,
but are able to eat the rest of the day.
Other women end up with a 'sensativity' to pregnancy
and end up dehydrated in the hospital
requiring IV fluids
and even TPN (Total Parental Nutrition) IVs.

Honestly, I was thinking this same thing. You might also just have a very sensitive gag reflex, or even a spastic one-that was my problem. Unfortunately because of that, the anti-nausea meds made my body work even less to get used to it. After I threw away the leftover Zofran, and tried more natural remedies, my body adjusted and I felt better. I really hope yours does the same. Hang in there!
