Default Selection of XBox Games

How does the selection of XBox games compare to those of Playstation? Are all the good games made for both formats?

as far as a family game, i think dance dance revolution is pretty cool on xbox. i prefer halo but that's not really for family time. it's my understanding the playstation library is the largest. but quality and quality are two very different things. it's long been my opinon that nintendo is the platform of choice for families. the games tend to be less violent as a whole but more importantly nintendo's games are often better in quality. there are more kid friendly games, there are more innovative puzzle games, there are rich RPGs that are fantasy and kid oriented, etc.

This may be a dumb question, but will the XBox 360 play the original XBox games or do we have to upgrade our whole collection?

I bought a dance pad and planned to get Dance Dance Revolution for a little fun with my hubby's XBox but now he wants to upgrade to a 360 and the last thing we need is an extra game system around the house.

Their are supposedly some copywrite issues, but microsoft is "busy" ironing out the legal issues. Different design company used on 360, or something.

the xbox 360 dethrones the playstation??? i think not.

don't get me wrong. i looooooooooove my xbox, but so far, there was no need to upgrade. all of the games they make for the 360, they also make for the xbox... and for playstation... so i mean what was the point?

halo 3 is said to be released exclusively for xbox 360, until then i'll continue to enjoy my original xbox.

also the xbox 360 is competiton for the playstation 3, not the playstation 2. and in comparison the ps3 wins in my opinion.

(i know this thread is old... i'm just saying)
