After 12 years in the inner city--we are moving to rural CT. It's about an hour and a half away. We're moving to a house and we'll have a yard, and a school house that's separate from the main house. The house is tiny. . .it's 900 square feet. . .but it's not that much smaller than what we have now. . .especially considering that the school house is separate and that there is a full basement for storage.
It's really an investment opportunity as the house is selling for $70,000 (we're buying it from my bil) and is worth $150,000 without any improvements. Our plan is to live there a few years and either build an addition or sell it and move into something larger.
But I really HATE cleaning and so I might just stay there forever until the kids leave the house!!!!
Someone asked if I'll miss the city and the answer is a resounding YES!!! Trees, and yards and country sound horrible to me. I'm sure I'll adjust. . .we really feel like it's the right thing to do. . .but leaving our church and all else is very, very sad.
