Ian Thorpe was better, he just retired early thats all.

I just saw the medal presentation for Stephanie Rice... makes you so proud doesnt it and our relay got bronze; WELL DONE boys!
And I do have to congratulate the American team that was an amazing bunch of swimming

Ok Aussies - YOUR GIRL DID IT. Stephanie has three gold medals. Awesome. She was so far out in front.

Yeah so proud of Stephanie and all the relay girls!! WTG!!!

Oh and I totally think that Ryan Lochte is better than Phelps too. Just seems more humble... and much better looking IMO

With last nights win of 8 gold medals in this olymics alone, his total count for his lifetime is, what 14 gold medals?

Awesome. And he's got his whole life ahead of him.

He is better looking.However, breaking the world record of 7(he has 8 in Bejing) golds in ONE olympics, I think it is apparent that Michael is a better swimmer!

Also, he seems pretty humble to me. He said repetitously that he couldn't have done what he did without his team members and gave lots of credit to them. I'd say that he's the reason they won- as they were a smidge behind until he jumped in the pool.

Regardless- He's made his Mama and America VERY proud!
