Post yet another hospital visit

I had fluid leaking this morning...and still do but they say it's not amniotic fluid so who knows! I am having contractions though and they gave me water to drink to see if they'd stop and they didn't. So.....they sent me home! I thought it was a little weird. They wanna wait till my cerclage tears before removing it........weird! Or until I reach the date they have predetermined (which isn't determined yet) that they're going to take it out. I'm supposed to go back if I start bleeding or the water breaks....and just never mind the contractions?! It's madness!

That is alittle weird they let you go with conractions - are they regular? Every time I went to the hospitla with contractions with Jack, they had to stop them before I could leave. The one time they could not stop them, well, Jack came! But mine always had a regular pattern to them - I think that is why.
What do the mean about the sticth tearing? I don't know anything about those, but wouldn't that be extremely painful?? I would think they'd want to take it out BEFORE it got to that point. I don't get that. And, can your water break with that, or would it be just a slow leak??
I hope you are resting with your feet up and feeling better!!

The water can break...from the contractions I think. They're regular, every 5 minutes...I saw them on the monitor they went up to 70....consistantly. I think they sent me home because my doctors are weird...and they say that it's not safe to stop labor at 35 weeks (where my doctors say I am but I couldn't be...) and so they don't want to give the drugs to stop it...I don't get why they wouldn't take out the cerclage either. It should hurt alot if it tears! It is your cervix tearing...I suppose it is that they think it'll hold up till they can see me (on thursday) and then decide what to do. I think they're all nuts...I don't know though. Maybe it's normal for people in my situation?

Wow. If you are starting to dilate there shouldnt be any harm in taking out the cerclage at this point rather than letting your cervix tear...OUCH! You are almost 37 weeks, so things should be just fine. Have you talked to your doctor?

My doctor argues with me about my dates...which is just crazy. I know when we stopped bd-ing! ya know? They did check my cervix and said I wasn't dilated. She said the cerclage would make it hard to dilate so I don't really get it. I mean...I know that if she's gonna come now she will whether the cerclage is there or not but i really thought they'd take it out because of the contractions. I don't know.

That is ridiculous that they left the cerclage in and if it tears it tears....!!! OUCH indeed!! I really hope that in the mean time things will settle down and that come Thurs you can convince them to take it out...Hope that there is no tearing involved and that it is safely removed prior to Kianna's debut...won't be long now at all!!!

I feel like going to the hospital and being checked is a waste of time...but I really don't want to give birth at home! I am so annoyed, frustrated, irritated, angry, and tired. I can't seem to figure out how to be treated the way I think I should be treated. I just don't get how to get what I want? I mean...if its my choice if the cerclage be put in....shouldn't it be my choice when/if it comes out.

I agree and if the risk of tearing is there I would think that taking it out would be a priority for them...you are so close to 37 wks and if you are having contractions etc the time must be getting pretty close...Perhaps if the cerclage is preventing dilation that is the method to their madness to ensure she stays in for a little while longer...but at what cost to you???!!! If you think you can wait til Thurs well...if not...I would just take a deep breath and go into the hospital and tell them your concerns and that you don't want to risk tearing and demand that the cerclage be removed!! It may be difficult but screw up that courage Kara and do what you feel is right...sending you stay strong vibes and a handful of "hutzpah" too!!! Here for you....
