You can't say Boob on TV, but you can advertise Condoms!
What do you all think to this? They say no programs aimed at the under tens with have these adverts, yet don't mention that the majority of children watch 'normal' tv and parents will either have to have the tv totally off, or pause during the adverts, ridiculous.

I think it's a pretty rational decision. There's nothing wrong with showing kids the right thing to do, which is safe sex. If in return it will decrease the young pregnancy rate I don't see any harm in it.

we already have condom commercials here, fairly certain they're around the clock as well. but they're normally in such a way that you have to know what a trojan is in order to understand the commercial.

Condom promotion has not lowered the teenage pregnancy rate, so I think this is totally ridiculous. In fact, there is a direct correlation between the amount of sex education and contraception pushing that has been going on since the 60s and the rise in teenage and unwed pregnancies in the same time frame.

They aren't like that here, we have one which shows multiple teenagers at a house party, drunk, vomiting everywhere, then a girl and guy clearly having sex.

And it is not just about reducing teen pregnancies, condoms decrease the spread os STDs, including AIDS. I say they should advertise all they can! Sign of the times, i guess.

The problem is that targeting teenagers actually increases sex among them. So, yeah, more of them might use condoms, but there's actually more of them overall having sex than there would have been otherwise. Not to mention that with increased usage comes increased failure and non-compliance.

I am all for condom promotion I would not like my child to come and tell me they are pregnant or that they have gottne someone pregnant but I would rather that then they come and tell me they have had unprotected sex and believe they have HIV, AIDS, or an STD.
