Your church attire: Dressed to the 9's or just sliding by?
I will admit, I'm a very casual dresser. Even by my work standards of business casual, I'm always leaning a bit more to the casual side. These dressing habits hold true for church, too.
I always feel comfortable in what I wear, but I always feel under dressed compared to some.
So, just curious, do you dress to the 9's when you go to church? Are you in "Sunday's Best" or are you like me, do you wear something nicer than normal, but something more on the casual side?

Not LDS, and yes, I am a casual dresser. But in my church, the young African American women wear the most beautiful hats on Easter. We also have people from Africa and the Carribbean who wear very dressy clothing of their countries sometimes to church.
The hats appear to be custom made and are quite beautiful.

Oh wow, that sounds really neat, I'd love to see these hats!

We are totally casual. My husband wears shorts to church--he actually doesn't really own a pair of pants.

twinzplus3.. that sounds like my husband! The only pants he owns are the ones he has to wear to work. If they didn't have a business attire policy, he'd be in shorts and a t-shirt everyday!

I dress as nice as my budget allows. I enjoy looking nice, and I feel it is appropriate. However, I certainly believe it is MORE important that people attend church than feel like they can't because they don't have dressy clothing to wear.

--my husband is allowed to wear shorts to work. . .he's a coach! --the rest of the employees are required to wear black sweats but my dh has been there for awhile, when the company was a lot smaller and there was no dress code when he started. He's the only one on staff allowed to wear shorts throughout the year regardless of what and where he's teaching. Everyone else has to wear black sweats or athletic pants inside. Just cracks me up!

We usually go to Sat Contemporary Church (not LDS) and it is much more casual.
Jeans, shorts, sandals are all ok.
A lot of times, I will wear a dress that I'd normally wear to work and be the dressiest one there.
On Sundays, it is very formal - suits & ties, dresses, skirts, or nice pantsuits.
I don't think anybody at our church wears hats any more. I would have loved to see some of those pretty Easter bonnets too!

I dress as nice as I can afford. I do not judge anyone on what they were to church. I was raised to dress nicer then normal for church.
My mother will not attend church without wearing nylons.
I have many friends who are from the islands in the Pacific ... they tend to wear there traditional island outfits. Men wear a lavalave (decoratively printed length of material wrapped around the waist and tied) with a shirt and tie sometimes a suit jacket, and wemon in muumuu's - very fancy. I have on occasion also worn muumuus, beautiful and comfortable.
Some of the older lady's in our ward still wear there pill box hats and white gloves - its SUPER cute.
I think some of the teenagers dress a BIT too casual. plastic flip flops aren't church attire (unless its all you have). but usually they get through there rebellious stage and dress nicer in there adult years.
