Default your kids discipline and behaviour

I have 3 kids, 2, 4 and 6 yrs and have been wondering how they compare with others in the behaviour stakes! I have always thought they were fairly well behaved but lately, just little things I have been noticing has warranted me to question how well I am parenting, so I wanted to see what behaviour standards are expected of your kids.

For example, the older two, girl and boy share a room and right now it is a disaster area. I have repeatedly asked them to tidy up but they just don't listen. I have wall charts that I am starting again this week with small jobs on it, and that seemed to work quite well. But little things like going shopping, they will misbehave and run around at the end of the shopping trip sometimes (I give a stern warning before we go in), or flooding the bathroom at bath time, things just do not get taken in.

Tonight my son at dinner spat food on the floor, I made him sit down and pick it up, which he refused to do, so I sent him to clean his teeth and go to bed. I think I really need to follow through with discipline and be consistant, I can see where I am going wrong, but I am just wondering what you expect of your kids, and also wondering are my lot as troublesome as they seem right now lol Thank you.
