Default Moderator for Parenting - Teenagers Forum

Welcome to the Parenting - Teenagers section of the Families.com Forums. Here you will find many lively discussions on important topics. Feel free to jump in, post a new topic, and join our many discussions.

Our moderator for Parenting - Teenagers is MJ7. You will find her participating actively in discussions. If there are any issues that arise with any of the discussions, please send her a private message.

Most of the people on our forums are parents, but teens are welcome to post questions and discussions. Please note this is not specifically a forum for teens, not a chat room. We ask that you please take special care to stay safe online. Avoid giving too much personal information about yourself - we're nice people, but we want you to stay safe.

We also ask that you keep your posts free of obscene or vulgar language. We do edit some posts for content that is too explicit for our site.

All of our discussions here at Families.com are conducted with respect and consideration for one another. Please take a look at the link for our Terms of Service at the bottom of each page for gudelines on posting.

It can often be hard to communicate with your teens. I have found a new method of doing this. By finding something that you all like to do together it is easier to communicate and teach them lessons. I started a hobby by performing acts of kindness wherever and whenever I can. I got my teens involved in this and they learned how good of a feeling it is to do this. We post our good deeds on foyble.com and get to see others responses to it. We are also able to read other inspiring stories. It has really helped us connect (while also teaching them valuable lessons)
