I realized that this forum didn't have any posts, so I figured I'd start the first one.

Personally, I love Oprah. I think she's such a positive force in the media and covers so many topics that other talk show hosts don't attempt. I know that, in the past, she has brought many issues to my attention that I never knew existed.

I plan on buying the DVD compilation of her first 25 years on television. What I've seen of it looks very interesting.

I'm not going to buy her DVD, but I do really respect Oprah. She's one of those ladies that I think it would be impossible to NOT like. She has done so much for the community and world around her, and not been a celebrity "look at me lok at me" about it. Amazing lady.

I like Oprah, too, but I don't think anyone ought to mistake her for a religion.

Personally I do not care for oprah, I think she is a fake.There is nothing good I can say about her

Oprah's got some good guests sometimes, and good resources. But the fix it fast attitude of Dr Phil really irritates me.

I can't stand Oprah. I hate fat Oprah, I hate thin Oprah- I even hate in-between-and-hiding-it Oprah. I think she is an opportunist, exploits people to expand her image, and has lost touch with reality.

Dr Phil I find entertaining as long as I don't think too hard while I watch his show. Sure, he's an arse, his credentials are suspect, and he's just as exploitive as Oprah- but I can get sucked into watching his show if bored. Watching Oprah to me is like chinese water torture.

I totally agree.

I used to watch Oprah when I was a kid, and she never made her own childhood a secret. I remember thinking, if she could make it and overcome that stuff, I could overcome my own obstacles too (at times psychotic mother, father with PTSD from Vietnam). In a very real sense, I feel I owe some of what I achieved to her. I was about 11 or 12 when I started thinking about that.

The reasons for my dislike for as I like to say okra fatfree. Is that there is in my opinion nothing honest about her. There was one show were they were talking about breast cancer. One old laady stood up and said taht if men could get breast cancer there would have been a cure years ago. okra (oprha) did not tell the woman she was wrong that there are many dieases that take men that there are no cures for. She just shook her head up and down like one of those bobble head toys. There were amny other examples I could give about her. But the reason taht I refuse to have her on in my home now is when she was doing one of those new age segment. Somebody from the audience said something, the mikes didn't pick it up, but the mighty "O" heard it for she shouted out "don't give me that Jesus was new age".

On Dr phil I have never seen his show so I ca not commnt on him. I would like to say about these quick fix shrinks taht are on tv and the radio. How come they can figure out and fix a problem in 20 secounds when other dr. take years to come to conclusions and treatments. Either those dr.s are ripping people off by making them come for long periods of time or these celberity drs are wrong.
I don't have enough information to decide but one should think about it.
